The Finance & Leasing Association (FLA) is the leading trade body for the asset, consumer and motor finance sectors in the UK. Our members include banks of all sizes and their subsidiaries, the finance arms of leading retailers and manufacturing companies and a wide range of independent firms.
The FLA’s employees make an enormous contribution to the FLA’s success as a trade body, and that contribution is enhanced by diversity, equity and inclusion of all kinds. The FLA’s aim is that all its employees should have the opportunity to develop and achieve their full potential and be able to contribute to the FLA’s objectives.
The FLA values excellence, and recognises that it depends on attracting, retaining and developing the best talent available, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity. The FLA aims to create a culture where individuals of all backgrounds feel confident, included and respected as they contribute to fulfilling the FLA’s goals and values.

Senior Executive Pay
When considering any bonus to be awarded to the Director General’s remuneration, the FLA People Committee will consider progress towards delivering the FLA’s Diversity and Inclusion Plan, including the recruitment of any new staff. The Director General’s contract will reflect this. The FLA’s People Committee is made up of FLA member firms and these individuals also sit on the FLA Board.
Working Together
The FLA’s priorities on diversity, equity and inclusion are agreed on an annual basis by the FLA Board. The FLA’s Remuneration Committee will adopt a broader role influencing the FLA’s work in this area and will become the People & Remuneration Committee.
The HR Group (including members from across the three divisions) contributes to, and oversees, the FLA’s work on diversity and inclusion.
The FLA’s D&I Group (comprising staff) is responsible for operationalising the D&I Plan.
The FLA will collaborate with the Leasing Foundation on D&I sessions.
Progress
We will report to the FLA membership on the Annual Plan and progress each year.
