Member campaigns and initiatives
The FLA is proud to facilitate a number of member-led initiatives which help boost professionalism, improve business processes and ultimately lead to better outcomes for customers.
These include the industry-wide SAF programme which provides a standard level of specialist motor finance knowledge to customer facing staff that pass the renowned SAF test, to our Vehicle Recovery Scheme which ensures that members are alerted whenever their vehicles are impounded.
SAF
Specialist Automotive Finance (SAF) was introduced by the FLA in 2007 to boost professionalism in motor dealerships and increase consumer confidence in car finance. 47,000 industry customer facing staff are registered to take the SAF test each year.
NaVCIS
NaVCIS is the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service, a Police Unit dedicated to the prevention and detection of vehicle crime, working with both domestic and international police forces to recover stolen or fraudulently obtained vehicles belonging to our members.
Motor Finance Specialist Apprenticeship
Developed by motor retail and finance industry employers, the Motor Finance Specialist apprenticeship enables businesses to employ apprentices that, on graduation, will specialise in the provision of motor finance information and support to customers or intermediaries.
FLA Vehicle Recovery Scheme
The scheme is a protocol agreed by both FLA members and the police that ensures that lenders, as vehicle owners, are notified whenever one of their vehicles has been seized and impounded because their customer holds no valid insurance certificate.
