FLA Vehicle Recovery Scheme (CrushWatch)

The scheme is a protocol agreed by both FLA members and the police that ensures that lenders, as vehicle owners, are notified whenever one of their vehicles has been seized and impounded because their customer holds no valid insurance certificate.

The scheme provides an opportunity for lenders to recover impounded vehicles before they are sold on or disposed of. It is the platform under which cap hpi’s crush watch alerting service operates.

In 2025 CrushWatch saved 20,657 vehicles worth £243M from being destroyed, including supercars worth over £200K.
